wow, not a single swisher sweet wrapper or natty light can in sight, and i got lost in here for a bit. to anybody who picks up after others and themselves, thank you very much. beautiful maze-like trails to lose some time in
This trail took forever to find. I tried googling it but nothing. So here is a tip....note the trail is starting near the parking lot associated with the offices behind the CVS. Can't find it....video attached shows it. Please note that we could see some chickens 🐔 free range but it seems there was horses etc that were not out but usually do come out. This trail is about 2 miles. Note that there is not a bathroom attached to the trail. Also you have to follow the blue or green indicators on the trees. The trail is not really paved. Can be muddy if raining. But in the words of Denzel...."You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That's a part of it."
If your not watching ...you miss the trail and end up somewhere lost. The department should put more stable signs down. Do not expose your legs as there are many bugs and the trail is of no use if muddy.
We'd always seen the sign for this spot near the CVS at the corner there, but couldn't figure out how to get there. Cue Google Maps, which shows the green area, and we eventually figured out that the trailhead is at the far end of the parking lot.
This became a bit of a go-to early in the pandemic because it's close by and you can see horses once you get through the woods. Recently we went again but had more trouble finding our way around, not least of all because some paths were blocked or too wet. Then, the horses weren't where we'd seen them before, so we were a bit worried, but we did find them eventually. Very friendly horses!
Lovely little walk in the woods. You can hear cars pretty loudly (hence the 4 stars) but would certainly come back for my toddler to roam.
