  We decided to spend a few days on the North Fork in February for a little getaway with our preference to a B&B. I turned to Google to see what was available and l was drawn to the Shorecrest, first off by pictures of the Inn itself and the gardens, but obviously we're not going to be enjoying those beautiful garden vistas in the middle of winter. the pictures of the interior were so warm and inviting it was like you're drawn back in time. We had both read the reviews and as a whole they were extremely effusive except for two and we both agreed that with so many positive reviews someone had an axe to grind and they were just an anomaly.
  Marilyn greeted us at the door and couldn't have been more amiable as she told us about the place and showed us to our room and you might say she even upgraded us to a room with some great views of the sound. I neglected to ask how old the house is, but couldn't help but notice how beautifully restored it was with attention to detail. The decor is tastefully eclectic and when I would sit in any of the rooms I would wonder what life was like back then, so that's pretty authentic.
  After Marilyn put out the breakfast spread for us both mornings that was so delicious and I was so full I couldn't eat another bite I recalled the one negative review written in all upper caps Harping that there wasn't enough food and I just found that hard to believe.
  Our stay was so enjoyable, and the place is so warm and inviting as is Marilyn in making our stay so comfortable. I rarely submit pictures of food, but omeletting a pic of one of my many plates at breakfast to be included.
  Thank you Marilyn we will be back, but being a horticulturist of sorts I need to see those gardens so it will have to be a summer visit.

  We had an overnight stay in August at this highly rated b&b. It was our Anniversary weekend, a chance to explore the North Fork as we made last minute plans from our Nassau County home. We were more than pleasantly surprised at both the immaculate accommodations and our host, Marilyn, who has attention to detail in her decor and making her guests feel comfortable. Her breakfast in the dining room was displayed elegantly. It was generous and deliciously home prepared. We enjoyed the other guests staying there and in the evening when Southold comes to a quiet halt, we were able to sit in one of the common areas and share with other guests. Breakfast was the same, as we all came together and it just felt so relaxed. Thank you for welcoming us into your home and we will be back!

  We had a great time staying at the shorecrest B&B. It was clean, the rooms and bathrooms were a good size. The breakfast was very good and made from all fresh, locally grown ingredients. Marilyn had great recommendations of restaurants, vineyards and activities to do while visiting. She also provided us with the most up to date tourist information/magazines/maps which was much appreciated! I would go back and stay again.
