(May 13, 2023, 8:47 pm)There is parking at the bottom with Porta potty and you can drive to the top and park and either picnic at the picnic tables or goto the tower and see the ct valley from Hartford up to Vermont on clear days

(July 6, 2020, 5:49 pm)Soapstone mountain from main parking entrance has a 1/4 Mike trail to the top which is pretty strenuous. The views from the recently placed new lookout tower are awesome!

(April 14, 2019, 1:27 pm)Excellent for older people who want a nice paved walk to the top as well as challenging hiking trails. No trash cans so please carry out what you carry in! Plenty of scenic views and many picnic tables to use. Very friendly people here for the most part. Last but not least the rebuilt lookout tower has plenty of room and offers miles of view. Great place for a family picnic.

(August 24, 2018, 1:03 pm)Great place to come hike or just drive up the mountain for the view/ride. I love coming here, this is one of my favorite places to come and relax when I'm in the area. There are picnic tables at the top of the mountain to sit and eat or just hang out (which it seems like a lot of kids do because of the many drawings/writings on the tables). There are trails but I haven't gone down many of them, I like riding up the dirt road from across the street because it's a great surface for my dirt tires. I wish that the picnic tables were stained with something that would make it impossible for people to ruin but I guess that's just how it is, some people don't appreciate what we have but I'm telling you it's worth checking out!!!
