Nice easy to moderate trail. Very secluded, shaded and peaceful
The aspect that I appreciated most about this trail, was that it had very little trash. I bring a bucket with me when I hike to pick up any trash I might see. I was impressed that when I left I had nothing in my bucket.
There were some interesting rock formations and was able to find some large examples of white quartz throughout the trail 👣. There was a beautiful patch of hemlocksand a few larger examples of white pine and oak. The main attraction to the area for me was the opportunity to see chestnut trees as there are so few left in the state. Being winter, I will probably have to confirm their presence by going back in the spring. But found numerous leaf samples of chestnut and thought I saw some that I could identify by bark.
Very nice..very peaceful..would've driven by it as it is almost hidden
Excellent loop trail. Lots of ups and downs.
Unusual trail with its abundance of large, glacial erratics (freestanding boulders). I keep going back a few times a year.
