WARNING - The parking here is very very, offroad and bumpy. Any lower car will get stuck here, normal sedans will even struggle getting out. Getting in is easy, getting out is a real challenge. Also it's tiny...

The hiking paths here are extremely beautiful, this place is genuinely a hidden gem. Not very busy or well known, probably because a state park is right next to it. The paths can get a bit confusing and possibly get you lost, but the views are nice. I do not recommend bringing a bike or your dog, leave them behind for this path.

Varied inclines/downhills, really quiet area and awesome hike overall, highly recommend! Peaceful is right in the name with good reason.

This hike was beautiful. There were a few routes you could take once you entered the initial trail head. I've attached a pic of the map and route names posted at the beginning.

The Overlook Trail is the one to the right. It can be confusing with how the signs are and it also has a sign saying "To Stoppleworth" at the beginning of the trail. This leads to a nice climb and some really good views of the valley. It was misty when I did this hike but the views were still nice. The first set of overlook pics I post will be from here.

After I came down the back side of the Scenic Overlook I was linked into the Yellow Trail which eventually tied into the Blue Trail. There is another overlook point you can get to off of the Blue and Red Trails that you can climb up on and get some good views. The second group of overlook pics will be from here. You'll see it from the Red Trail, I believe, and be able to get to it to start the gredual climb up. It isn't as tall as the main overlook site.

I was running out of daylight, and it was already dark from the misty weather, so I took a path through a swampy area that was denoted by a small bridge, some boardwalks, and stones placed along the way. I knew this would lead me to the road based on the direction, and it did, so once I got there I used the side of the road to get me back to the parking area quicker. I've attached a screenshot of the area with the location marked with an X where I came out onto the road just in case anyone ever needs to take that same route. The parking area is denoted by the red map indicator.

I really enjoyed this spot and wish I had more time in the area to hit it from some different angles and hit the trails from other entry points/directions.

The main trail to the overlook required climbing over some large rocks, which can be dicey when covered with leaves or if you're not an adventurous hiker. Other trails to the overlook seemed easier, if harder to find.

A wonderful set of trails in Tolland. Sometimes challenging due to rocky terrain and some small elevation changes, but I would not call it difficult. Rewards include some wonderful rock formations and an overlook on a ridge line. Definitely a must see in the area. Trails are often small but very well marked.
