  I have been working with Joe for a couple of years pretty steady. He has also been instructing my now 11 year old for about a year. I have learned more from Joe in the past two years than all my instructors combined in the past. Joe goes beyond simple rote knowledge of playing a song and teaches how music works and how the guitar works within a musical framework. He has not only helped me become a better guitar player, but a better all around musician. And Joe makes the learning as fun as it can be. I have never enjoyed guitar practice more prior to working with Joe.
  
  Joe has also excelled at working with my son in the same regard. He has worked with him to understand music by sound. Now when my son learns a song on guitar he can walk over to the keyboard and within a short time play the song back by ear and from memory on keyboard.
  
  I highly recommend working with Joe if you are looking to go beyond simple rote strumming and riffs into a deeper understanding of how music works.

  Joe Belmont is an amazing teacher and musician! We played gigs together for years, and now my son studies guitar with him. He knows all styles from Jazz to Classic Rock, has a great sense of humor, and his lessons are fun and engaging. If you are looking for a guitar teacher, I highly recommend Joe.

  I’ve been taking lesson from Joe for about 4 years. His dedication to the guitar and his students is amazing he’s taught me everything I could know and is preparing me for my college auditions. I’ve learned things from how to play the instrument, from how to craft my own sound, and even loads of music theory! Joe is an exceptional musician as well who takes pride in his work. Joe is definitely a top notch musician and would love to work with anyone from young to old to spread his love for music!   I highly recommend Joe for studying the guitar. I have had lessons with him at various times since the 80's and am always amazed at how versatile and knowledgeable he is about music and the guitar. I love how he has been able to help me to get to the next level, over and over again, and he embraces any style tune you can come up with. His love of the guitar and of teaching others really comes across. I feel cool when I get to hang out with Joe and have a lesson

  I have taken lessons with Joe for over 10 years. His musical skills and knowledge of theory are only surpassed by his ability to teach them. His style is friendly and fun . There are always new ideas and insights on how to practice and advance whether you are a beginner or advanced player. Jazz, rock, Flamenco, Classical. He can do it all.
