  Gorgeous area for a shady walk in the woods. It's worth it to take the short hike up to the waterfall.

  This is a great place in Cold Spring to see old buildings, waterfalls and amazing fields! Off trail excursions are the best here especially to walk in the ruins of old buildings, and for river views! Also check out the South side of the waterfall so that you can walk onto a rock ledge right in front of it! This is an amazing area which you must visit when you’re in Cold Spring!

  I have visited Cold Spring several times in the last 10 years. My latest visit was my first time visiting the foundry and I was in awe when I sort of wandered into this preserve.

  Great place. Very easy to access from Cold Spring train station as well as from Main Street (close to Hill Cafe and Cold Spring hotel)
  
  Definitely recommend for everyone. It's free and very convenient to get there from Grand Central Terminal

  Beautiful short hike, very manageable wide gravel trail that turned into a wooden boardwalk, before there was a staircase that led back to a dirt trail. Saw a few dogs along the way, and I really enjoyed the little historical excerpts at some of the ruins.
