(June 17, 2023, 7:54 am)Helped my Shih Tzu feel much better! Our vet thought her eye had a serious infection but it turned out her eyes were just very dry. After a few days my dog was all better! The office is modern and clean and the staff and vets are very friendly. Highly recommend!

(June 9, 2023, 3:37 pm)I can't say enough wonderful things about this practice, from the front desk staff to the vet techs to Dr. Cho. They were so patient, compassionate and caring with dog, Oscar (and me!). It was a long wait for an appointment but they called as promised when they had a cancellation. The charges for the services they provided were more than fair and Oscar's eye is healed and he's doing great. They even sent a thank you note. Who does that nowadays?! If I could give them 100 stars, I would.

(May 28, 2023, 9:13 am)I'll put it this way I feel blessed to have this doctor group relatively close to me and my pets. They do fabulous work. Their compassion for my girl Evie was evident from the beginning. Highly recommend.

(March 12, 2023, 5:51 pm)Dr. Schmidt is amazing. I'm an emotional wreck when anything is wrong with my pup, and she walked me through everything. She was so confident in every step we took, and I'm very thankful for her care. My dog originally went for dry eye. Over a six month period we were went from basic eye care to battling infection and ultimately eye removal. Every step she walked me through it, and I felt very comfortable putting him in her care.
Moreover, the vet techs are top tier. Each of them made me feel cared for, including offering to bring me medication because we live in the same town. Honestly, if you're looking for experts, this is the place. -

(March 8, 2021, 1:28 pm)I wish I could do more than give a 5-star review to Dr. James Gaarder and his amazing staff. Dr. Gaarder SAVED my dog's eye and we are so beyond thankful for his help and guidance on treating her.
I called the office hysterically crying because another doctor prescribed medications that made my dog's eye significantly worse and I didn't know who to turn to - Sarah, the angel of this office, stayed on the line with me and listened to everything I said so kind and patiently. Sarah told us to rush in and our Emma would be seen on an emergency case.
We drove all the way to their office from Staten Island and Dr. Gaarder was informative on her condition, treatment, and roadmap to her full recovery. He explained everything to us to where we could understand fully and he was also very kind and careful with our little girl. They prescribed medications with clear instructions throughout Emma's recovery and we were able to bring her in for checkups, noticing positive gradual results each week.
Emma's eye is now 100% better - she made a full recovery and if we waited any longer she would have lost her right eye. Sarah, thank you so much for helping us and letting us come in immediately. Words cannot describe how amazing you are, and also to all of the staff members, technicians, and of course Dr. Gaarder for saving our baby girl.
Emma developed an ulcer, was prescribed a steroid which led the ulcer to get worse, and it developed into a Corneal Stromal Abscess.
Her eye was completely cloudy, full of pus and she could not open her eye at all..
Photos may be a bit uncomfortable for some to see, but each photo is a week apart to her full recovery.
