  My dad had a full knee replacement surgery at Middlesex Hospital. They said that Dr. Amy Wasterlain doesn’t normally give out PT referrals, that they educate their patients with exercises that they can do themselves at home.
  
  Well, when dad got home, he was very weak, in a lot of pain, and I was barely able to lift him to get up to his walker, never mind trying to do PT.
  
  I also didn’t have enough PTO days to take off work on a daily basis.
  
  I called Vernon Rehab and got into contact with the Admissions Director, Amanda Hardy. That was the turning point for dad. Amanda was amazing in her steadfast work to get dad into her facility as quickly as possible!
  She was caring, personable and in contact with me constantly, guiding us and lending an ear to our frustrations.
  
  We went to Middlesex hospital to see if we could get a PT eval and referral. They were rude and sent us away. Then we went to Manchester Memorial where we got a PT eval and eventually a referral. The ED staff, that night, starved my dad who is a diabetic and gave him nothing to drink. I went out to Dunkin to get him a sandwich and a water.
  They later redeemed themselves on a follow-up visit.
  
  At any rate, Amanda was with us via phone the entire time, pressing forward to expedite dad’s admission. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her.
  
  When Amanda finally pushed through all the red tape, dad was admitted and he finally received the proper aftercare he deserved.
  
  Vernon rehab was clean, quiet, and the staff was stellar in their care of dad. I know because I was there every day to visit him. I went home to get the rest I so badly needed, knowing that dad got as good or better care than I could give him.
  
  If you need any rehabilitation, this is your place. Call Amanda. She’s more than willing to get personally involved to make sure your loved ones recover properly. Thank you, Amanda, and all your wonderful staff. A+ in my book. I hope you get a raise for the incredible work you do.

  My father was a patient at Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare on multiple occasions over the past couple of years. I cannot say enough good things about this facility and the care they provided for him during each stay. Everyone from the courteous and professional director of admissions, Amanda, to all of the direct care staff including the CNA's, Nurses, Physical Therapists and everyone in between was wonderful. Thank you for caring!

  Staff, aides, therapists all very caring to my father. Answered our questions in a timely manner. Clean rooms, Dad said they were all nice to him. 4 stars because food was served cold on occasions we were there. But would recommend for staff!

  The staff (including CNA, Nurses, PT, admission and patient care planners) were all fantastic. My mom was there for a 11 day rehab stay.
  They were really great with my mom. They spent a lot of time helping me work thru some issues with our assisted living facility. Went above and beyond making sure it was a good transition back to my moms facility. They really care about their patients and helping them get as independent as possible.

  Patient Care is very personal here, we recently had a family member that required their services , attention to recovery is quick, detailed and successful... Every time some one asks where is he- we tell them Vernon Manor- and the response is always- That's a great place.
