Fantastic museum with so much history, really a home town feel and learn about Trenton as well, walk around d the park as well, very nice.
In the heart of West Trenton region with beautiful views throughout the park sits Ellarslie museum. Trenton City Museum is more than just history. You will glorify the the education provided of Trenton and the Cadwalder park area. The events that are and will be held at Ellarslie tend to fit all ages.
Such a great spot! I highly recommend stopping bye. If you need a nice gift, their shop has something for everyone. They also have a great collection of Trenton pottery.
Also take a moment to walk around the park. If you want a good weekend trip, go-to artworks, the state museum, and here!
Last I should also recommend coming here when ever the seasons change, the landscaping of this park it's amazing!
We attended for an African Mask Making workshop. It was a fun event and staff/volunteers were extremely helpful with gluing and recommendations for structuring your art. You were able to touch other actual art mask with white gloves and there was an African mask history book being passed around. Everyone was extremely friendly and introducing themselves. There were a ton of materials, snacks and family friendly from age 2-adults/couples. We were not able to see the entire museum but the grounds looked beautiful. Parking was convenient, park security at all entrances as well. After we explored the beautiful architecture of homes in neighborhood across the street afterwards (Calwaldere Heights I believe) that reminded my of my previous neighborhood NY. I would definitely recommend for families.
A beautiful celebration and ode to Trenton local history. The hours are wonky, which means that I've now gone for two special events, but it is a delight to see the pride and rich history that the museum exemplifies. Great museum shop!
