(November 7, 2022, 5:51 pm)I started here just over a year ago, so August 2021. I have never been an athletic or sporty person. I did karate as a kid, and I had a taekwondo class in college, so I know I wanted to do some martial arts. I didn't know what jiu jitsu was, but I thought I would try the free trial class.
If you told a younger me that this was something I would enjoy, I wouldn't believe it. I really do love it. I'm not very good, I'm only a white belt with three stripes, but I love learning and rolling with my team. The instructors are so helpful, informative, and kind. The Academy is really like a family I am happy to be a part of.
You know, a family that beats each other up. :-) -

(November 10, 2021, 6:29 am)Very friendly instructor and students. I stopped in for a midday class while traveling. Prof Shamy shared a wealth of BJJ knowledge and jokes. His jokes are surprisingly helpful with retaining info, as I tried his techniques later upon returning home. Highly recommended. 10/10. Would visit again.

(May 24, 2016, 2:34 pm)Madama Bjj is more than just fantastic! It's an absolutely amazing experience! I felt welcomed from the first day I joined and so did my son. It's like family here. We can't speak highly enough about Professor Josh and the coaching staff. They are always forward thinking and constantly motivating me to become a better me. I would definitely recommend Madama!

(May 24, 2016, 2:30 pm)The value Madama Jiu Jitsu provides to it's students is unprecedented. On so many different levels the instructors, students, and facility provide a true home away from environment. The instructors are unbelievable and constantly work to be better and provide the best level of instruction possible. The students here are fantastic and the team environment is more like family. Everyone wants to help everyone get better! I will continue to recommend Madama Jiu Jitsu to anyone who is looking to improve themselves in any way.

(May 24, 2016, 11:41 am)Best decision ever joining Madama!! I recommend to anyone either you have a child or just for yourself come on in. Everyone welcomed me with open arms not just our instructors but also our teammates who are now friends to me. Everyone encourages you to go 100% even if you're having an off day just coming to class does a 360 to your mood and that off day turns into a good day. From my experience I'm learning so much about myself and I have to thank each and every person at Madama. Don't miss out come on in you won't regret it.
