Good to go with family and friends.
Peaceful and beautiful park.
Perfect for a little day trip hike from the city.. There are cool bridges, a tunnel and a river/stream you can dip your toes in. Definitely some high grass areas so dress appropriately for avoiding ticks!
The trail to the tunnel was great! A perfect, flat walk for my dog.
The bridge to the park is closed so make sure you follow the detour signs.
One of my favorite parks to explore, trails, landmarks, campsites big enough for spacious family camping or bigger groups, and a great river for swimming in! One of the best parks around!
Had such a great time hiking today! Was hoping to find the tunnels but we had limited time to wander, tons of people with dogs and riding horses along this trail. Such a beautiful spot! Several trails were easy and some were a bit more intense with the pitch and climbing the side of the mountain. Killer spots and views through out!
The Steep Rock Summit, at an elevation of 776 feet, provides a breathtaking view overlooking the Clamshell section of the Shepaug River Valley. Gifted to the Board of Trustees in 1925 by Steep Rock's founder, Ehrick Rossiter, these 100-acres including the summit are the core of the Preserve and the first land owned by Steep Rock Association.
