  Tucked into an off the main road strip mall with plenty of parking, Schwartz is a cute mom and pop chocolate shop that has plenty of variety. Basically I needed a chocolate fix but wanted something from a specialized store, and Schwartz did not dissappoint. Staff were friendly, place was clean, and lots of customized or prepacked options. Chocolate tasted fresh, not generic or off tasting. My favorites were the chocolate covered marshmallows and chocolate covered cashews. Cost was $10-15 for half a pound but that was plenty of chocolate. Would definitely come back here for a sweet fix or during the holidays for catering.

  Fabulous hand made chocolates! Schwartz Candies has been family owned and operated for more than 80 years. Tucked away in a shopping center in Carle Place, the store is a very special find for chocolate lovers and connoisseurs. Try their chocolate covered marshmallows and you'll be hooked! The store has an unbelievable assortment of all types of chocolate candies hand made on location.

  Nice find; if you love chocolate you need to check this place out! Smells amazing. You can view the chocolate making process if you're lucky to catch them in action. We didn't but will definitely be back. They also make custom chocolate bars as favors for parties.

  My daughter-in-law, who lives in Atlanta, told me that they have her favorite chocolates (chocolate covered marshmallows with caramel) and her aunt had just ordered some to be shipped to Georgia. I tried the marshmallows - yummy, and the chocolate covered apricots - delicious. Pricey - $32/lb but worth it. I will be going back. Bringing some to my daughter-in-law when we visit.

  They have great candies for all occasions. Every holiday we stop in for gummy bears, jelly beans, caramel marshmello chocolates and other specialties, Easter Bunny or Santa's. Very friendly and helpful people, genuine, creative and thoughtful. I highly recommend stopping in if you have never tried Schwartz Candies.

The store, originally located at 127 West 72nd Street in Manhattan (between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues), found a permanent home at 131 West 72nd Street in the mid-1940's.
