Quabbin Reservoir is a beautiful and expansive body of water located in central Massachusetts. It is the largest inland body of water in the state and provides drinking water to the Boston area.
One of the main things that makes Quabbin Reservoir so special is its natural beauty. The reservoir is surrounded by rolling hills and dense forests, and the water is crystal clear and teeming with wildlife. Visitors to the area can hike along the several trails that wind through the forests and along the shore, offering picturesque views of the water and surrounding scenery.
Aside from its natural beauty, Quabbin Reservoir also plays an important role in providing clean drinking water to the Boston metropolitan area. The reservoir was created in 1939 by damming the Swift River, and today it holds over 412 billion gallons of water. The water is treated and then pumped to Boston and surrounding communities, providing an essential resource for millions of people.

Overall, Quabbin Reservoir is a truly special place that offers natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and an important source of clean water to millions of people.
An impressive place. Lots of trails for hiking. In addiction, you can go fishing, bicycling, walking and even picnicking without fire and grills here. No pet allowed.
I just love it here. It's my zen. SO peaceful and beautiful. Go there before sunset and watch the clouds, lakes, and islands on top. I wish that they change the windows on top floor of the tower and keep it open a little bit after sunset so people can enjoy the sunset there. I understand it is hard to evacuate the park after dark, but it is so sad to miss the sunset in fear of getting locked in the park or honked by the angry park guard. They keep the whole park very neat. I absolutely love it. I should check out the fall down the road next time that I'm going there.
