  You’ll find some information on the building of the Quabbin as well as photos from the four towns lost when it was built. If a ranger is on hand they’re helpful with more information, and keep an eye out for the photo albums of pictures in folders on a low bookcase. There’s a good amount of parking at this gate and a very good view of the Quabbin. From the visitor center it’s a short walk to one side of the Windsor Dam. The full walk across the dam and back will take some time, the far end also connects to the previous Gate where you would drive up to the tower, etc. a good walk from the visitor center is over the dam, and then loop back from the wooded area on the backside- you’ll have to climb a few hills if you choose that

  Always a peaceful outing. The view of the Quabbin is lovely and you can walk along the top of the dam.

  This park area has an amazing view overlooking the reservoir. There are about 6 or 7 picnic tables and a couple benches scattered around the area. Bathrooms are closed for covid currently. There are several walking trails in the area though to see more of the park.
  One star was removed because the parking in the area is confusing. Doublecheck wherever you park because the signs can be misleading and police often check to hand out tickets.
