I think it's a wonderful place to hike, and the view is amazing. The price is a little high, but I still had a wonderful time
So good. Gardens, seating areas, peace, adventure, views. If I could come every week I would
Your entrance for day hiking or the hotel. I just did a day hike, and regardless of the time slot you choose, you are allowed in at 7am. The woman at the gate asked to see my pass and returned with a map and wristband and was back in the hut before I could ask any questions. $35 seems a little steep for a day on the trails but the grounds are beautiful.
4.29.22 For those of us who can't afford the $1K per night stay here (min 2 nights) they offer $35/day hiking passes. On FB I saw the $65/day pass to see their "tulips". That part was just ok because there weren't that many tulips (they advertised it as 20k which really isn't a lot). BUT the $65/pp Day pass also included access to the grounds, you could visit the house (indoors old looking and not impressive) but the exterior is magnificent. The pass also let us hike their trails so we did Eagle Cliff, Labrynth, Sky Tower, etc. And it included a 30 min boat ride of your choice (pedal boat or Canoe. Kayaks were put away because it was too windy). The $65 pass also included access to all the trails and grounds and we saw at least 30 "tree houses". The walking paths were all well marked and easily accessible by young kids or older adults. We saw some with canes and poles, enjoying the grounds. And at 4pm there were cookies and tea included in the day pass. This was amazing to sit on the outdoor rocking chairs which overlooked the lake. Our take away was, you pay for the outdoors. I didn't see what the bedrooms look like but I can't afford them anyway. I guess this place has a spa and other amenities. My focus was hiking, gardens, and walking paths. I thought $65pp was well worth it as I was there from like 9:30am - 5:30 pm.
