  I so rarely write reviews but couldn't help myself, I had a wonderful experience last Sunday and want everyone interested in buying and selling stamps and coins to know about it. I used to collect coins and stamps in my youth and as with many interests as one gets older -except hopefully ones marriage- it fades away. Anyway the coins and stamps were relegated to my back closet gathering dust and than while handling as executor, my Aunts estate and looking over some of the coins she had in a jar from her many travels around the word I got the idea to pull out my collection of coins and stamps and see what they could be sold for. So I called the first coin dealer that had a positive goggle review and that was close to my workplace and it was Main Street Stamp and Coin in Stratford. I spoke to proprietor Tom and made a appointment for Sunday at 10:00 AM. I brought my wife with me as we had just finished a yoga class and entered his office which is attached to his home, met Tom and for the next two hours received the benefit of someone with a deep knowledge of history and how it relates to stamp and coin collecting and life in general. I could clearly see how knowledgeable and honest he is. I was treated extremely fairly, he explained what he would pay for my collection and why and my wife and I walked out of his shop with a lot more knowledge that when we came in. I simply cannot say enough good things about Tom and if you have a collection to sell or are interested in buying I recommend him highly. Please skip the big commercial shops and pawn dealers and give Main Street Stamp and Coin a try first you won't be ripped off and will learn something as well. A word of advise please, when you go to your appointment with Tom leave any pre-conceived ideas that you know more about collecting and coin valuation than Tom, as you probably don't and a good attitude and a bit of humility is key to the success of the transaction and interaction. I recommend Tom and his business highly, five stars.

  Tom returned my call a few hours later to make an appointment. It was a wonderful experience and he taught me about the coins I brought in. Tom was nice, knowledgeable, and great to talk to. I walked away with a great deal, and a new friend.

  Tom was an absolute pleasure to work with! He has such a wealth of intriguing knowledge, I was blown away. Honest, fair & flexible. Qualities you can truly appreciate and respect in this business.

  I called Main Street Stamp & Coin regarding a $10 bill that I came across and spoke to Tom who was very pleasant and accommodating on the phone. I made an appointment to come in later in the day to discuss the bill and found him to be incredibly honest, fair and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed his company as well as the information he shared regarding his trade. I would absolutely recommend his services and if I ever found myself in need of his expertise again would look forward to dealing with him in the future.

  I had a very positive experience here today. Tom - the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He provided clear guidance about the value of the coins I brought in, and whether the silver value exceeded the numismatic value of the coins.
  
  He made the whole process painless, and I learned a few things. Highly recommend.
