    My kids and I love it here. Great place to kayak, and the lock is filled with turtles. Great walking/hiking/biking trails too. No restrooms, word of caution.

    Good for a walk, kayaking or paddle boarding. Not sure about the swimming, but maybe have a tetanus jab first if you're thinking about that.
    Plenty of people fishing too, not sure of the type of fish here, but it's probably worth a shot.

    Plenty of parking, and not too far away there's plenty of bars for a quick drink or ten, and / or something to eat.

    Beautiful place for fishing, picnicking, and cycling. Connects to the Schuylkill River Trail and the Upper Schuylkill River Trail, permitting some lovely and scenic bike rides. No water or restrooms.

    Mount Clare has great access to the Lock 60 recreational area. It is a great place to launch the kayak or just walk down the trail. You can even check out how the locks were used back in the day to move cargo.

    Beautiful area for access to the canal and Schuylkill river for kayaking, paddle boarding, and boating. Wide shady trails along the river for walking and biking and enjoying the scenery. Access to Neal Thorpe trail which is more rugged. Access about 200 ft from canal lock and access bridge. This rugged trail is rustic and pretty so watch your footing. The steep climb to the overlook is challenging. Lots of loose stones and rocks so easy to slip and fall. Much harder coming down later. Wear sturdy shoes.
