Simply the best, we love HLC. We recommend to anyone looking for great child care, a loving environment and encourages them to be kids while learning.
We have had two children attend Haddon Learning Center (HLC) since 2015. We believe this has been the best child care center for our family in the area!
1. Kindergarten preparedness: Our older child had a very successful Kindergarten experience which we directly attribute to the preparation she received at HLC. The staff have appropriate education and training in early childhood education - it was a seamless transition.
2. Health & safety: Even pre-pandemic HLC had policies in place to mitigate the potential for illness transmission. Since the pandemic we have felt safe sending our youngest there - there's nothing more they could do to remain open and try to keep the kids safe.
3. Professionalism: Miss Elizabeth runs a very tight ship! As a parent it's been reassuring to know she has rules to protect the kids and she enforces them diligently.
4. Convenience: They're frankly the most accommodating schedule we found in the area. Anywhere else would have been a hardship with our jobs to manage drop off and pickup.
5. Arts: They have great arts and crafts every day that the kids (and we) have really enjoyed!
6. Community: Reflecting back on the past six years, our kids have made lots of friends and we've become friends with the parents. It's been a great community. In pre-pandemic times we enjoyed Food Truck Fridays in Oaklyn with all the other families, and maintain contact with several families despite the kids graduating to Kindergarten. The teachers have been members of this community as well - they help make HLC what it is!
7. Communication: The couple times when there were minor issues Miss Elizabeth was very responsive and communicative.
We encourage anyone seeking pre-K childcare to consider HLC, no reservations.
I literally breathed a sigh of relief when I visited Haddon Learning Center. Knowing that I'm leaving my daughter in a safe, happy environment that encourages learning, outdoor activity, cleanliness (both on the teacher and student parts), arts & crafts, and community spirit.... it's a working parent's dream come true. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, always putting the children first.
Both my sons go/went to HLC. My oldest was there from 2008-2012 and my youngest is currenlty with them. Staff are wonderful. They really CARE for your child as if they are their own. They are a family away from home. My oldest has some milestone issues that the Staff worked with him to overcome and work with outside agencies to be an inclusive daycare. I recommend all families to check out HLC and you'll be happy you did.
