Do not judge a book by its cover. From rt35 in South Amboy you'll see a used car lot. Adjacent to the car lot you'll see a small office, and in back of the office is the auto repair shop. There's a sign out front that says Gallucci's. There's nothing fancy going on here, but the magic is inside known as Joe Gallucci. Joe is an extremely hard working honest mechanic with a big heart. I first met him when l brought my car to him with a brake problem. It turned out being a brake line problem. Joe explained it could be in one of the wheels or all of the wheels, and wouldn't know for sure until he checked the car out. I left there feeling sure he would call me to tell me it was all of the wheels, even if it wasn't. Well he called me about two hours later to tell me l lucked out and that it was only one wheel. I couldn't believe his honesty. I've been going to him ever since. He always does a great job. You never have to go back for the same issue. He's old school. He told me early on that his father would tell him, " Joe, There's enough money to be made by being honest " he's like a country doctor in a way. I brought my son there last night to have a flat tire fixed. While l was there a father came in with his daughter because her little scooter's brake locked up, she was about 7. After Joe finished with my son's car he fixed the girls scooter. I was blown away by his compassion. Joe comes from an NHRA racing background with plenty of trophies, so he knows his stuff for sure. His customers love him as do l. I'm sorry this wasn't a full out auto review, but the real story here is the integrity of the man. Having your car fixed right is a given...
