  We Just had our chimney swept, fire place safety inspection -boiler flue cleaned and dryer vent inspected-( didn’t need cleaning) This father and son team were so professional, thorough and were so neat that you wouldn’t even know they were here. I highly recommend them !!! The owner Craig is a retired firefighter, and very knowledgeable. Devin really did an amazing job fixing some cracks in the fireplace and made it look like new.   Four years ago I moved to a 30 year-old 'townhouse' condo whose previous fireplace use history was totally unknown. After 4 years of 10-20 fires per winter I began to get nervous about the possibility of a chimney fire, and I began to read up on chimney sweeps. Bob Villa warns you that many of them will try to dupe you into spending thousands of dollars on unnecessary 'repairs' and parts replacements, so I was anxious about the whole affair. Merely studying chimney sweep websites yields only vague information, and a conflicting array of reviews. After plowing through a number of them, I more-or-less arbitrarily settled on Ford. Right decision! He and his co-worker (who doubles as his son) were terrific. I say this knowing nothing in particular about the technicalities of the procedures he performs, but the facts stand nevertheless. He looked up the chimney and pronounced it 'Not in need of sweeping'. Nor did he propose any parts replacements. Then we went to the drier vent. He opened up the output end, and pulled out an astonishing mess of old lint clumps. Then he held a section of the vent up to the light, which revealed its seriously-degraded state - the multitude of little tears were readily visible. He replaced the whole vent. Then I casually made mention of a totally-unrelated problem, thinking maybe he had some advice: a garden hose that had been stuck on the water connection for months. I had already tried every wrench and pliers in the house, and couldn't budge it. Ford then gave it a try with his wrenches, but he couldn't budge it either. He proposed, by way of explanation, that a bi-metal reaction had caused the hose to be literally welded to the hose connection. He then pulled out a little hand-held circular saw, and, without once touching the hose connection thread, he managed to saw the hose off. His fee for everything was the pre-arranged fee of $159 for the chimney inspection plus $35 for the drier vent, the latter of which actually required about a half hour or work. It appears that I was not charged for the hose work at all. Extraordinary. Maybe he did all this to ingratiate himself to a first-time customer, but when a man does the right thing, then it really doesn't matter what the reason is, because the world contains a preponderance of wrong things, and we have to be grateful for each right thing whenever it appears. In any event, I like the Fords - they're nice people.

  My dryer vent hose broke and needed immediate repair. After reading up on several companies, I chose CF Ford based on their reviews, and they were local. Wow! I couldn’t be happier with the level of service and expertise from this company. They scheduled me for the repair—and cleaning— the very next day. They did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. The service was thorough, timely and the premises was left completely clean. Highly recommend.
