I really enjoyed hiking here. You can tell that there were a lot of pro hikers as this does connect to various trail systems. I came here with my family, including two young children. We went counterclockwise which starts off with a very steep incline so you'll want to be sure that your kids can handle it. Once you make it to level ground you do walk along the edge of a cliff. Make sure you keep a hold on your kids as it can be dangerous. The views are certainly worth the moderately challenging hike to the top and if you do the loop it doesn't take too long. It took us about an hour and a half due to stopping along various points and slow walking children. There's also a cemetery at the end if you would like to explore before heading to your car. The parking area isn't too bad but be warned that this is a popular place to hike and it will fill up on the weekend. I've seen cars park along the road but I feel that could be dangerous. Overall a nice weekend hike and afterwards head over to get some ice cream at Durham Dari Serv!
Hidden gem hiking trails! Always enjoy hiking here and will be going back soon!
Great hiking area with varying challenges for all skill levels. Nice views at the top
Beautiful area, with a short path to the left that's nice for a casual walk and the main entrance to the deeper trails at the top of the big hill. Some epic views for a relatively short walk, with a few spots to stop along the way. The deeper trails are a little touch and go, check the map or it's very easy to end up in random suburbs with unmarked trails or no obvious trails at all. Nice variety of surrounds as well, even the geology changes as you go further in.
This is a nice place , view is awesome the hike from the parking lot to the top , that will give you a work out, nice when you get on top you can get some great pics. Trail gets flat up top .
