  Hiked the ‘Black River Loop’ as presented by AllTrails app. Beautiful moderately challenging hike, ups and downs with roots and rocks besides a beautiful river with a few ruins of mills of the past! Don’t miss taking the tour at Cooper’s Mill!

  When you've lived in the area your whole life, driven by it 1,000 times, but never stopped to check it out. Very happy to have found this amazing gem so close to home. From the parking lot walk down to the old Cooper Mill and take the path that takes you through the tunnel under the roadway. Amazing fishing spots. Semi difficult and narrow terrain with wooden planks and stairs to help you get through to a beautiful lake adjacent to the Black River. If you take the trail all the way you will end up at a park on the other side. Beware of ticks. We had our share to pick off us and the dog after walking here.

  Excellent scenic hiking trails along the Black River. Old flour Mill is at the entrance of the park. Very scenic. If you're hungry, the Old Mill tavern across the street is a good place to go.

  Nice park for hiking, easy enough for kids older than maybe 5. Mostly shade, some nice sunny patches. Wetter places have wooden passages (good work, Morris County Parks!). Little pond or lake with a small waterfall add a extra touch of interest. Old mill is closed, but you can walk around and explore. Definitely worth a visit!
