  Black hole is the place to be if you want to get in shape, learn useful self defense skills, and have a great time. They are truly a tight knit family. Mike genuinely cares about every one of his students as is evidenced by the fact that he travels all over the country/world for his team. They always have multiple great high level teachers at the school and everyone has been very willing to help others learn. No egos here. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!!

  The coaches, students, and atmosphere are more than welcoming. Compared to other gyms around the area, this place will make you feel right at home. I was skeptical finding a new gym after I graduated college and did not have the most pleasant experience with other local gyms. Mike Wacker really put a lot of time and effort into ensuring his gym is safe, respectable, and gives everyone the best experience possible. Four years later, I'm still right where I belong.

  I absolutely love this place. I'm brand new to the sport, but Mike and all of the coaches were super welcoming and encouraging from the moment I stepped in the door. Mike runs a serious, professional program but still keeps it fun. Just 5 weeks into training and Black Hole feels like home already. Also, the gym is kept very clean and the whole staff takes cleanliness and hygiene incredibly seriously. Classes are well-attended, but I still get tons of personal attention from the coaches. Also, a good balance of both white belts and upper level belts to train with. I shopped around with some other gyms before joining here, and this is unquestionably the place to be.

  I was only able to train for 2 months with Black Hole Jiu Jitsu, but it was a truly awesome experience. Not only is Mike Wacker a world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner but he is extremely friendly and welcoming to anyone who comes in the gym. This is the best place to train in the Hudson Valley for anyone looking to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or just get in better shape and gain self confidence. Mike and the other instructors are professional and fantastic with kids as well.
