(May 6, 2023, 9:45 pm)A cute little park in the Stony Brook with boardwalk, ponds interesting sculptures and a well marked trails. The park has two parts – a smaller section near the Stony brook down town is essentially a regular garden with paved trails, flower beds, sculptures, cascades and ponds. Very pretty and children-friendly, but, alas was very overcrowded on Saturday. The second section is bigger, with well-marked, dirt-packed trails that goes through meadows and old very open forest. Easy walk and less crowded. The park is pet-friendly. We have seen many people with dogs

(March 30, 2023, 7:35 pm)Beautiful park. When my "baby dog" was alive he LOVED this place, you never saw a dog more excited to take a stroll through the woods as this little guy was. The sights and sounds area tranquil. It's a quiet park even on the weekends. Most people stay by the duck pond feeding the ducks so the trails are very quiet. The park is large enough to find a quiet space to picnic or to just stroll on your own. Keep in mind there are NO public bathrooms here.

(November 5, 2022, 10:53 pm) I absolutely love visiting Avalon Park and the duck pond. it is a great serene environment to just hang out with the family and enjoy nature. it's a great place for a picnic or a hike. you can go to the pizza place / deli across the street and purchase some feed for the ducks.
