  I was in a desperate mental and physical state 4 months ago, when I finally asked for help. My life was unmanageable, to say the least. After making a phone call, I was sent for detox and Alina Lodge was recommended. Being in such mental anguish, I was open to all suggestions. Following 7 days of detoxing I was driven to Alina. Feeling restored physically, I knew the real work was to come. The intake staff was welcoming and supportive, but, being my first (and only) treatment center, I was full of fear. I now know unrealistic expectations is a character flaw of mine. I accepted the fact that this wasn't a vacation, I needed help. I surrendered to the program. Allowing myself to be vulnerable and teachable, to find comfort in the discomfort, I settled in and engaged in the fellowship and the program classes and lectures. I learned the routine and structure was important for me as my previous life was unmanageable. I continue with the routine and structure today. Of course I was happy to complete treatment and return home to my wife and kids but there is something I miss about Alina. Maybe its the community, the connectedness to others in recovery, working on ourselves to be a better person, the clinical team and staff or simply the fact that at the age of 46 I feel I finally grew up. I continue to stay connected through the app and look forward to the Alumni events. I am grateful Alina lodge, it was exactly what I needed.

  If you're reading the reviews because either you or someone you love needs help, pay careful attention to what most of us have to say. Alina Lodge is a place that can help. After 5 years of multiple outpatient treatment and halfway house programs, our daughter was not getting any better. There were periods of being sober but it wouldn't stick. It reached the point where it was you either go away for an extended period of time in an intensive treatment facility, or you have to leave the house. She had no place to go and no stable job. Although not happy about going, there wasn't much of fight, She started at Haley House, where she was for a few months. Because she wouldn't adhere strictly to the rules of the facility, they recommended she be admitted to Alina, her home for the next 14 months or so. What happened there was quite remarkable. The daily schedule is very disciplined and the rules are strict. You must earn your way through trust and hard work to get a little more space. They work on the underlying cause of the addiction, treating depression, anxiety, bipolar-depression, and other mental health illnesses that are contributing factors. There are daily sessions where you learn to cope, and handle the challenges of life. Group and one-on-one counseling works each student through the steps program. Parents, siblings, and other family members are also included in the training to learn about the disease, how to help and be supportive. I could go on but I hope you get the point.
  
  Our daughter has been sober for 4 1/2 years (7 1/2 now). She is a different person than the one that entered Haley House and Alina Lodge. She has a life, a good job, found love, and just graduated with B.A. and about to enter a Master's program (now completed). She is happy. The change and transformation has been remarkable. Ultimately, it is up to the individual, but many can't turn their life around without professional help. Not everyone will be successful. And we all know addiction is a lifelong disease that requires constant effort to stay sober. But it can be done. Life for an addict off of drugs and/or alcohol is better, much better. I am so thankful that we found Alina Lodge. I wish we had found it sooner.

  After 12 stints in rehab for substance abuse and eating disorder, FINALLY we found the right treatment center for our daughter. It is different, and it is the best. It is long term and hard work for the addict. While there she not only got sober, she put the foundation in place for a sustained recovery. She learned to pray and became spiritual. In a family session months in, we reconnected in a powerful way. The ability to step down to sober living was amazing as well. The people at Alina are the best. Educated, committed, aligned, and operate as a team on behalf of the "students". Don't even consider anywhere else...this is the place.

  I was a student at Alina Lodge (that's what they call patients there, as it's an opportunity to learn and grow)in 2011-2012. I was 18 and terrified, I didn't know how to live life at all, let alone sober. Alina Lodge gave me ALL of the necessary tools, support and help I needed to enter recovery. I have over 6 years sober now. I know from personal experience that the whole idea of being in treatment for a long time is difficult to understand and accept, but know that for this person, that's exactly what I needed, even if I didn't want it in the beginning. Give Alina Lodge a chance and follow their suggestions. This place gave me hope, sobriety and brought so much light into my life. Thank you Alina Lodge for tolerating me, helping me and GIVING ME A LIFE BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!
