It is a very nice place. Unfortunately, the administration doesn't allow to take pictures inside. It is very stupid because every photo posted on the Internet works as a free advertisement. I found this place on the Internet and wasn't sure if it made sense to visit it just because I didn't find a single picture taken inside. So, my thought was that the mension looks great only from outside, and there is nothing inside. However, it is beautiful inside.
So stupid! You can take pictures in Vatican Museums and Uffici Gallery, but not here!
Definitely, the administration has no idea how to collect more money for the site restoration.
There were only 6 people in the group and all of them agreed with me.
Such a beautiful home full of incredible history. If you're lucky enough to get Julianna as your guide, you're in for a very special immersive experience. Absolutely lovely place to visit.
Lovely spot for a picnic and a walk! The main attraction is the house but the grounds deserve equal attention. Beautiful views of the Hudson, easy gravel paths for walking, and a decent amount of parking. Also, no charge to park and wander the grounds! For a free activity, it’s a must.
Beautiful historic home with lovely grounds!
We were very fortunate to have a guide who has been giving tours there for 25 years! She was well-informed and very dedicated to preserving this house and its stories.
It's well worth the visit.
