A little respite from the heat, under the tree canopies, but more flying insects than usual. The milkweed is so fragrant!
It's a nice place to hike. There are a few trails you can hike on. Don't forget to enter the visitors center. There are restrooms and a small museum. They also have a store. Leave your pets and bicycles behind, as you can not take them on the trail.
Lovely little walk .. but didnt have time to explore the entire preserve.
Beautiful preserve for walks. Paths are wide and mostly flat. Saw wild turkey and other wildlife. I'm sure if I go often I'll run across deer since there's hunting allowed at specified times of the year. Strictly controlled by DEC so numbers are kept in check. Great place.
A large park with two sets of trails going to different sides of the river. There is a large visitor center (unfortunately still closed as of May 2021 due to COVID) and public portable toilets are available outside the visitor center. The signs and trails are well-maintained despite the reduction in staffing levels.
