  The ticket to the home of The Headless Horseman writer Washington Irving was very much worth the cost. It got us into the home, of course, but it also included an old-timey storytelling performance by a colonially dressed actress, a 20 minute video of a shadow puppet show retelling the famed story, and the ability to walk the grounds!
  
  All together, the tour was really cool and a great spot to visit for Halloween!

  Had a great time here. The house was outstanding. I read most of his books, The one that most people know is, (The legend of Sleepy Hollow) when my family members invited me to join them I said yes.

  Great tour! Tour guide was very informational! He was able to discuss Washington Irving the author and give unique architectural details of Washington Irving's Sunnyside house. When it was constructed it was on the preeminent houses in the US. Home to great American author who wrote "Rip Van Winkle" and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." As they explain on the tour probably one of the first Americans to make a career out of writing. Views from the house and surrounding property are very nice. No photography allowed on the tour, rooms inside are very interesting. Some furniture and clothing inside are original to the house. Many rooms in the house have unique history to them. Tour lasted a little under an hour.

  Wonderful peaceful home of author Washington Irving. You get a tour of the building but no pictures allowed inside. And you need to wear a mask while in any of the buildings. No mask outdoors. Tour was very informative and was dressed in time period gown. No rush to leave the grounds once tour is finished.

  Detailed tour lasting about an hour filled with lots of information not commonly known about the author. Extensive gift shop, bathroom towards the back corner. FYI: Chained entrance gate is not opened until approximately 9:50 to 9:55 a.m. for 10 a.m. tour. No other bathroom nearby. Tours start promptly since they run every half hour. The view of the Hudson is lovely. I suggest wearing good walking shoes since you walk on various surfaces: blacktop, gravel, small round stones and grass. Also, stairs in cottage are steep and narrow. There is no wait to enter once the gate is opened. I highly recommend visiting Sunnyside with their fabulous tour guide (we had a gentleman who I unfortunately forgot his name) and pleasant staff in the gift shop (where you check-in with your e-tickets & begin your tour).
