(June 12, 2023, 8:10 am)Well worth the 20 minute drive! This place is huge! Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Especially helpful for someone like me who has 0 idea what they are doing!! Love that they have signs telling you how they group their plants (shade - less than 2 hours of sun, part shade, sun etc). The video only shows one section of the facility, but if you haven’t been, it’s well worth the visit. They also have a great rewards program and a warranty on plants when you purchase 1 bag of their transplant topsoil and special plant food (not expensive).

(April 4, 2023, 3:30 pm)Oh what joy on my first visit of the season to Van Wilgens! The wonderful bright colors greet you as you enter the greenhouse: pansies, lilies, tulips, ranunculus and more! The waterfall and the coy pond provide relaxation and peace as you take it all in. There is a large room in the greenhouse that has almost any kind of house plant you could think of with another room offering many assorted plant containers. I did buy myself a special present- a Madagascar Jasmine plant whose delicate white flowers give off a wonderful scent reminding you of gardenia. If you haven’t been there, I think you would find it a wonderful feast for the eyes and soul! 51 Valley Road, North Branford.

(March 26, 2019, 8:05 pm)Wide selection of plans, all different types of pottery. Everyone is knowledgeable about plant life, from soil, pots, drainage, to sunlight and watering. Extremely helpful and very polite. I would definitely recommend Van Wilgen's. (Pictures of the current spring collection)

(August 29, 2017, 11:21 am)Love this place! Great layout and a huge selection. Their citrus offerings are some of the best I've seen. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and there is a driving range right next door. If you love plants and golf you can't beat this option. Pricing seemed fair.
