I would highly recommend Danilo Torri’s Tobukan Martial Arts classes for people of all ages. I have been training in this program for a decade and I believe Danilo, whom we refer to as Kyoshi, has been a strong and inspirational role model towards his students. Throughout the past ten years that I have been attending not only has Kyoshi taught me how to fight, but rather use my skills for self-defense and developing my self-confidence in preparation for my future. Both physically and mentally, my twenty two-year old self has become stronger and more withstanding in contrast to the scrawny twelve-year old kid that arrived. Without this opportunity, I don’t think I would have carried half of the qualities it took for me to become the young man I currently am today. For a kid, who’s biggest nightmare was doing one pushup and stretching his head towards his knees thanks to Kyoshi, I can now do up to over a hundred and stretching has become a part of my daily regime which resulted in me developing an interest in feel-good activities like yoga. Any kid who doesn’t feel comfortable in their own skin can learn the way of overcoming it physically and mentally with the guidance of Kyoshi. I have even developed a strong bonding with Kyoshi over the years and I see him as being a man of good character and wisdom. He can be strict and disciplined, but in a way that makes you respect and believe in him as an instructor. He is kind and patient when he goes over the steps of the karate sequences his students endure. With his teachings Kyoshi naturally inspires respect… not just respect for him, but others around us whether it’s our friends, family, or those that support us. Kyoshi expresses his strong sense of moral value and courage he passes on to all his students.
I would like to thank Kyoshi and the fellow instructors at this school for coaching me and every other student in both physical and life skills. I highly recommend Tobukan Martial Arts as a positive learning experience for kids.
Highly recommend
