(September 20, 2022, 10:10 pm)Thorn Preserve used to be the Loan Oak Dairy owned by a local family. Used to be a large barn in the middle of the field where cows were milked and the milk bottles. Later years the field was leased to farmers who planted corn or pumpkins.
The far end of the field, next to the Sawkill Creek, has two large water pipes that carry drinking water down from Cooper Lake Reservoir to Kingston. -

(April 19, 2021, 11:06 am)I live near here and it gives me similar feelings to a walk on the beach. A nice open space full of magic and air, with a beautiful view of Overlook. Very meditative and zen in the off season.
