  I came through this facility back in February and I was welcomed with open arms :) they got me involved in the area with a great group of people in the AA program. They gave me some responsibilities and only expected me to stay sober, go to meetings, counseling, complete my weekly chore, keep a job and be respectful. The counselors genuinely care and keep up with you as well as your obligations to the courts. The owner is a man i respect and will not soon forget! He's doing a great service to the state of Pennsylvania and has created a format for which other halfway houses should strive to emulate. I am now over one year sober as of December 1st. I owe a lot of credit to this place for instilling a better way of living in my life as well as the White Deer Run Blue Mountain facility preceding it. With a little bit of willingness and some action on your part, i feel this program can work for anyone.

  The Retreat at White Birch saved my life. The program is so very well structured and the professionalism of the counselors and other staff is remarkable. The director, Tom Lavelle is so passionate about treating alcoholism and drug addiction and cares greatly about his clients recovery and in my opinion has the best program in NEPA..My thanks and appreciation go out to Tom Lavelle and all the staff at The Retreat at White Birch.

White Birch Retreat - Rehab Repository

The program has some really amazing staff who are doing a great job. However, some women who have put their lives on hold and bravely come for help have been facing harassment, belittlement, degradation, picking on, and bullying from an 80-year-old woman who doesn't even work in the program herself.
