  First time checking this place out and I was not disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! So tasty we didn't get any pictures before we started eating them. It's nice that there is a local bakery.

  WOW! I walked in and there were no chocolate covered strawberries and the sweet sweet woman at the counter went to the back and made some for me!!! They were delicious too. The bakery is so cute and welcoming. Great service and excellent pastries! Will be back 🥰

  We bought 3 different hand pies. The bar b que, chicken pot pie and corned beef were delicious. The meats were tender. They were very flavorful. Each one had a different sauce inside and they tasted homemade. The dough was not salty like a store bought pie shell. Flaky. We reheated in the toaster oven and they were just terrific. For dessert we purchased an apple turnover and my husband said it was the best one he's ever had. I had a pastry sweet roll with jam spread inside. It was heavenly. Light. fluffy. Just delicious. We live 20 minutes away and I would definitely go back. Great stop for snack after hiking in West Milford.

  We visited The Magpie Bakery and bought several items and two drinks. The cannolis were great and not soggy at all, which has not been the case at other bakeries. We also very much enjoyed the blueberry muffin and blueberry lemon scone. The drinks were also delicious, especially the hot chocolate, which had a very creamy and distinct flavor. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.

  The Magpie Bakery offers delicious baked goods, so we were so excited to order a Birthday Cake from them! I’m sad to say we were extremely disappointed. This has nothing to do with how the cake tasted, but it was not decorated well. The writing looked very amateurish. Most bakeries will write Happy Birthday and decorate with iced flowers or balloons. This cake had a tiny, oval shaped decoration, which had a pre-written Happy Birthday, along with the name plainly written in icing. There were no additional decorations. I hate to write a bad review, because I love that we have a great family owned bakery in town and I love to support our small businesses. But for $30, this was a let down. I could have gotten a better decorated cake from stop and shop for half the price.
  
  ***Same day update: I spoke to the owner, Melanie and we were able to bring the cake back in. Melanie was very apologetic when we spoke and she personally added balloons to help make the cake more festive. I appreciate her willingness to try and make things right and I can tell that the happiness of customers is important to her. Again, my review was not a reflection on the quality or taste of Magpie Bakery’s goods. I just believe that the presentation does not do an otherwise delicious cake justice, and I expected to see a higher standard from Magpie with regard to decorating a celebratory cake. I’m grateful to have spoken with Melanie, and we will of course continue to enjoy the wonderful addition of Magpie Bakery to Bloomingdale and will never hesitate to send friends and family here when they crave something sweet!
