(June 22, 2023, 2:09 am)In August 2021, we came across the Deserted Village website and decided to check it out with our two boys. It's a part of the Watchung Reservation, so there is free parking and no cost to visit/enter.
As you walk in, they have a free "self-guided walking tour" pamphlet wit infomation about the history of the town and it's historic houses and buildings. We walked along the path, using the pamphlet for reference and explored the grounds for about an hour and a half. The visitor center was closed that day, but they had bathrooms available.
We really enjoyed being outdoors, as well as learning about the Deserted Village and its history. I would definitely recommend checking it out! -

(June 20, 2023, 9:16 pm)You won't be able to go into any of the buildings as they are rotted and decayed, but there are lots of history and cool little facts and signs to explain what went on in this area during this deserted village's heyday.
