  My parents moved into the Bristal at Wood Cliff Lake in June 2016 - and found a wonderful, caring community and staff. We personally shopped and visited several alternate assisted living facilities and found the Bristal at Wood Cliff Lake to be the standout, even though it was farther from our residence.
  
  The Bristal provided a warm, clean, safe environment that offered daytrips, activities, meals, and rides to stores, Church services on Sunday – BUT most importantly, The Bristal allowed my parents to stay together while my Dad was beginning to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Other assisted living facilities insisted they be separated. My Dad passed in 2017 and my parent's new-found community of friends and the staff at the Bristal could not have been kinder and more embracing to my Mom.
  
  After the Covid lockdowns lifted, I would often have breakfast with my Mom in her room – I’d bring my electric kettle to brew tea and a fresh bagel for each of us. During our breakfast we would get calls from her friends checking on her. A knock on her door with a staff member bringing my Mom her morning pills that she missed picking up at breakfast. It was a loving community with friends & staff looking out and caring for each other.

  We are approaching our one year anniversary of our Mom moving into the Bristal at Woodcliff Lake. We didn't have much time to make a decision for an assisted living facility but very glad that we chose the Bristal. Our Mom's circumstances required assisted living and her timing couldn't have been worse as they occurred in the middle of a pandemic. We started working with Tammy Hoke and Caryn Cantello weeks before the actual move while our Mom was still in rehab after surgery. Tammy was our guiding light as we maneuvered through what was for our family the new territory of elder care. Over the past year our decision proved correct as the management and staff did an exceptional job dealing with the restrictions imposed because of Covid-19. They did what was necessary under difficult circumstances to make everyone comfortable, seemlessly administered a vaccination protocol and recently reopened activities and dining. The staff are very professional and caring and the facility is beautiful, clean and well maintained. It's a comfort for us to know our Mom is in good hands.

  Transitions are challenging for most people – especially older adults. Leaving the home they have loved for years and moving to a new community can be daunting. However, The Bristal at Woodcliff Lake made it a smooth transition for our mom. From the warmth we felt during our initial tour to the amazing welcome the day she moved in; the stage was set for this new chapter to be incredibly positive. Over the past two years, our mom has made friends with the residents and staff alike, and enjoyed the great activities, amenities, and good food they provide. Calling The Bristal ‘home’ has been a blessing for our mom and the family, as we know she is well-cared for in a beautiful and safe environment. The staff has gone above and beyond on many occasions because they care deeply and that is just one more reason to choose The Bristal at Woodcliff Lake.

  My mother has been a resident at this facility for over 2 1/2 years... I've always found it to be clean and cheerful. The staff is absolutely lovely: Everyone from the front desk, to the medical staff, to the director are friendly and responsive. There are tons of activities, and I've always felt like my mother was receiving great care. We looked at many other facilities, and none came close to the Bristal. We've been happy with our choice.

  My mother has been a resident at The Bristal for the past six months. In that time, she had a new lease on life. Her quality of life is much better than it had been when she was living alone at her home. She receives three nutritious meals a day, her apartment is cleaned and cared for, and most of all, she is not alone all day, awaiting a phone call from her family and/or friends. She is engaged with other people, enjoying their company and the various activities The Bristal offers. She has participated in daily exercise classes, trivia games, jewelry making, even their version of volleyball. She's even tried yoga, for the first time in her 90 years! She has said she would prefer to be home, but if she can't be there, she's happy she is living at The Bristal, surrounded by caring people.
