  Beautiful and quiet. Took two of our pups here. They loved it. A few mild challenges but overall great for beginners. Trail was mismarked so use caution. We wanted the Red trail and never saw a marker for it, only yellow Upon returning to start area, we rechecked map. Apparently yellow was red?? There may be more trails in the area. We just went to one part. Tree covered so not too hot. No one had a tick or mosquito bite.

  On my bday i took the challenge of taking my 3.5 year old toddler on her first hike. We took it very slow w many breaks. As we almost reached the top i had to carry her but shen she reChed the tower she did not wanr to leave. We have a masterpiece she created while up there resting and them we climed down as i carried her asleep. id do it all over again if i had to.

  There is _no_ connection to the Stissing Mountain Fire Tower. It's at the northern end of the mountain. Park on Lake Road and take the trail from there. This MUA is at the southern end of the mountain. People who come here looking for the tower, will be disappointed.
  
  This Multiple Use Area is great for hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping when it's not hunting season.

  Stissing Mountain is a superlative 2-hour hike. I've been up it many times, but today I realized that the trail continues past the fire tower and loops back to join itself for the return back to the trailhead. It's a really nice loop. Views from the firetower are impressive.
