Yes it takes time to get a machine fixed mainly because of the times we are in at present. Normally it is a much shorter time but times are not normal. I would not buy a machine anywhere else. Steve's stands behind every one they sell and fix.

(May 20, 2020, 1:41 am)Old fashioned small business with top notch customer service. As a small business owner, I try to shop local when possible and am so glad I found this place. They have a great selection of higher end products, nice quality fabric, and employees who know their stuff and really seem to enjoy helping customers. The fact that an independent brick and mortar storefront has been in business for so many years despite the big box craft stores nearby and extensive online marketplace is a testament to the level of customer care exhibited at Steve’s.
I went in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up some fabric, and in passing I mentioned that I recently placed an order for a sewing/embroidery machine from an independent out of state dealer online and was having issues with significant delays and no communication. The gentleman I spoke (unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name!) to helped me select some materials to get started and showed me a realllly nice Baby Lock machine. Despite the store being ready to close he sat down with me and gave me a full demo. He was patient and answered all my stupid questions, explained the warranty... and they will actually teach you how to use the machine you purchased. You just can’t get that from a big box store or online retailer. Those places may be slightly cheaper, but as the saying goes... you get what you pay for.
Even the woman who cut the fabric was fantastic. Having forgotten I left some bolts of fabric next to the counter, she went out of her way to call me after I left, and although the store had closed, she cut the fabric and waited for me to return.
So I’ve cancelled the order I placed online and plan on heading to Steve’s tomorrow to make a large purchase with a company that truly cares about earning loyal customers and will stand behind their products. And when the pandemic restrictions are eased I’m looking forward to taking some classes. -

My family and I have been using Steve's for 30 years. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend them for vacuum repairs, but make sure that the repair is worthwhile, meaning that with vacuums so cheap these days sometimes you're better off just buying a new one. If you do decide to get your vacuum repaired, Steve's has always provided good and efficient service. Things have always been repaired to my satisfaction.
When it comes to purchasing a vacuum, Steve's has a lot of higher end stuff. They offer you a pretty good opportunity to try things out as well as good warranties.
When it comes to purchasing vacuum parts and accessories, I find that you usually do better online, at least when it comes to price. But if you're looking for something right away, or trying to find something that is hard to find Steve's will always have it or get it for you.
It's nice to have this kind of old school, family-owned shop still in business. Steve's maybe on the pricy side, but you do get what you pay for.
