Great experience and excellent care service from them. All Doctors and Nurses are so nice. Thanks for Take care of me.
Heidi (lactation consultant) was absolutely amazing for my wife during both of her newborn/postpartum periods now. The first time around, my wife was having trouble pumping. Heidi was patient and extremely knowledgeable. This time around, my wife has trouble with our daughter latching. Heidi, again, was extremely patient and kind with us both - teaching us ways to help our baby with breastfeeding. We weren’t able to get an appointment for a week which bummed us out but Heidi took it upon herself to call my wife and calm her nerves with suggestions until they could meet.
The only downfall to Baby and Me center for us was with the therapist (Gina N) we received during our pregnancy. We wanted help processing our first labor/delivery experience and the new therapist they gave us was one of the worst we’ve ever experienced. She did not address any of our concerns and seemed completely uninterested in even speaking with us?
My rating is strictly for Heidi since she was fantastic!!
I attended their breastfeeding support group on Tuesday mornings and I absolutely LOVED it. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting. They have comfortable floor chairs circled around a big open mat full of nice, clean baby toys and baby play mats. It's a wonderful way to get together with other moms who "get it". The babies have a great time exploring new things while the moms chat, breastfeed, ask questions, encourage one another & get some much needed adult time. The wonderful lady who runs it is amazing! She'll weigh your baby if you're worried about steady weight gain & help you with ANY concerns. Anyone is welcome and they truly make you feel that way! I'm back to work now, but I miss my group time with the ladies! Thank you for providing such a wonderful outlet for moms! It's excellent and was something I really looked forward to each week!
I went to the St. Luke’s Baby and Me Support Center for the infant CPR class and for lactation support services. The CPR class was great, I appreciated that they had mannequins that you could practice on and the mannequin would tell you if you were doing it correctly. Having that hands on experience made me more confident that I’d be able to help someone or my child in an emergency. The lactation consultant Heidi was very helpful. I met with her multiple times after my son was born to make sure he was latching on correctly. I liked how she weighed him before and after feeding him to be reassured that he was getting enough. The first week we were home from the hospital was tough, breastfeeding was painful and my son was barely gaining weight. Luckily with her help and being persistent my son was exceeding birth weight by 2 weeks. My only complaint is that I wish the lactation consultants at St. Luke’s University Hospital would be with new moms the first time they feed their baby so they can get them off on the right foot. I didn’t know they had lactation consultants at the hospital until I had already been there for awhile and since my son wasn’t latching on correctly I was pretty sore.
