Very nice for the historical side. The store has a lovely little candy counter and plenty of trinkets. Don't forget about the local books upstairs.
Shopping here in some ways is like being transported to a different time. The old-fashioned candy counter is always a lot of fun, they always have beautiful seasonal merchandise, and their Book Shop full of local and historically inspired books upstairs as well as pictures and maps is a treasure.
Always a fun stop and who knows, you may even see the ghost
Such a nice old time general store. My family has lived just a short walk away for nearly 45 years and I just recently visited for the first time. In addition to the historical aspect, it offers something for everyone from home/personal goods to old fashioned candy. To be honest, it was the good old fashion candy and the balsa wood plane glider kits of my youth that made me pull out my wallet ☺️. If you are in the area, I recommend visiting. Very friendly staff as well
I've been here twice so far. Once with my dad before work and once with my son. I love this store. They have such an assortment of different things, fresh baked cookies, candy, a whole upstairs level full of Christmas stuff, old fashioned toys for children, candles, lavender, and many different items too many too name. This is definitely a great place to stop by and check out if you've got the chance.
I haven't been inside this store in about 25 yrs or so. i grew up near here and the last time I was here was in the early 1990s or so. It hasn't really changed much inside but the exterior is completely renovated. When you walk in the smell is so pleasant and inviting. A mix of the chocolate and candy as well the candles wash over you with a hint of the old wood interior form this landmark. So many interesting things to see here and buy if you like. Get a honey stick or rock candy pop. Brings you back in time. 5+++stars love this store.
