  Our hiking group enjoyed the trails. A thick coat of mulch covered the walking area of the trail, and the bridges ensured dry feet. In a few places, there were roots that needed to be navagated. For the most part the trail is level and we did come across a portable bathroom. The parking lot is large and well maintained.

  Natural area with lots of small paths through wetlands. Dogs not permitted, as it is a bird sanctuary. A good place to walk quietly and enjoy the surroundings.

  The preserve is much larger than expected. The blue trail is my favorite, as it parallels a brook, so you are always near water. A sign lets you know when you are leaving the preserve, where dogs are not allowed. The reverse of the sign indicates when you are entering the North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary, where dogs on leash are permitted.

  A great park with two main trail loops. There is a large parking lot with plenty of space at the entrance. Both trails provide excellent views, with the red trail passing next to the lake and the train tracks, and the blue trail going deeper into the woods.
  
  Some parts of the trail do live up to the name and are pretty muddy, so bring appropriate footwear and clean up before getting back into the car!
