  As a therapist, working with children with special needs, I needed a therapist who specializes in how to regulate a child's sensory nervous system. For the pass few months I have been working side by side with Shula Spivak and have seen great progress in my clients overall development across all domains. He started off being afraid of movements to climb, go down slides, going on swings and now he is able to handle climbing up high ladders with no help, sliding down high slides with no fear, going on different types of swings. He demonstrated concerns with handling different textures such as sand, play dough, paint, and shaving cream. He is now able to accept these textures with less tantrums. He is now able to use more spontaneous speech and is a happy little boy, eager to come to Ms. Spivaks' gym.
  Ms. Spivak is a wonderful patient and a very knowledgable therapist in her field.
  With the increase in many forms of sickness' such as covid, and the flu, she has been very cautious with following CDC guidelines. It is a very clean and safe place in a warm and loving environment.

  When we first arrived to Sensory Play my 2.5 year old would barely eat anything. Now she eats tons and her weight has increased. I am so thankful to Shuli for all that she has done for my daughter, she has techniques and strategies I would have never thought of and wasn't getting from any research I was doing online. She really looks at the child and sees what is going on and has a way of getting the child excited about food again and eating. Going from having a child that was dehydrated and extremely picky to now excited about food again has done wonders in our household. It was also a huge plus that Sensory Play was able to get my insurance to cover all of this! Highly recommend!

  As a NYC teacher for almost 20 years I have really high expectations for my son's development and the quality of therapy he receives. Shuli started working with my son when he was 2 years old and he’s come a long way since he started going to the sensory play gym. Shuli has created a warm, nurturing, playful environment. His gross motor skills, coordination, ability to deal with different textures, and sensory processing has improved a great deal since he started working with Shuli. Shuli has worked with my family and my son's other therapist on ways to ease his sensory challenges and cooperative play in both preferred and non-preferred activities, which was difficult for him to handle when he first started at the sensory play gym. Shuli has gone above and beyond to meet my son’s individual needs and tailor her sessions at the sensory play gym to keep him engaged so he is having fun and thriving at each session, despite how much he is being challenged. Shuli introduced us to the Integrated Listening System which my son now not only uses during his sessions with Shuli, but also at home. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sensory play gym to any parent who is looking for a safe and supportive environment where their child can thrive.

  I cant recommend Shuli highly enough. She is an incredibly competent and enthusiastic OT and she has helped our children tremendously. My children love coming to the sensory gym and have made incredible progress working with her in just a short time. We are so grateful to be working with her!
