  Very pleasant place to take a walk. Not too many people around. Was disappointed that there wasn’t a lot of birds to see on the trails or if the nature center was open

  I ended up parking outside the gate because I wasn’t sure if you were supposed to drive on the narrow gravel
  Road. There is a small gravel lot there with the bill perciasepe or green trail head right there, so I took that. It is about a half mile and leads you to the red loop, so if you want to add some distance to the loop, it’s a good way to do so. Nicely marked mossy trail, only somewhat challenging on the uphill leading to the red trail. More bugs that I expected for as cool as it was. Bring spray unless you want your face in a bug cloud the whole way. Tons of acorns so watch your footing.
  
  White and yellow trails spiked off the main red loop. I suspected these just cut through the loop in case you wanted to get back faster and later I ended up taking the yellow one and that’s what it did. So the red loop is mostly easy although there are a few formidable hills, such as Rheinstrom Hill that push it into moderate. I’m not sure what happened at the end of this hike but as I was making my way back around the loop, I lost the trail, no more red blazes. One fork went past some old stone cabins. Another fork went past a house to a road and there was a blue trail there. I ended up having to backtrack and take the yellow trail back to red then to green, so my hike ended up being close to 5 miles.
  
  If you like hikes with a payoff, a beautiful outlook or a majestic waterfall, this may be disappointing. There are a few benches and rudimentary bridges but it is mostly a walk through the woods. I didn’t even see any birds. Some cool rock formations though. It was very quiet, I didn’t see another soul in the 2 hours I was there. There was some weird discarded junk in a few areas, a rusted chair, a toilet even. Mostly though, a nice walk. It was so well marked, I really don’t know how I got off trail:)
