(July 27, 2023, 6:51 pm)We were extremely pleased with the level of compassion and attention to detail to create such a special day for our loved one. After a warm and comfortable conversation, they created a beautiful obituary that read like a short story. Our momentos and pictures were loving displayed, and they created a video of the photos we gathered and played them during the services. We opted to have the visiting hours and celebration of life, along with military honors, all at the funeral home. They took care of every detail seamlessly. It brought our family so much comfort to be guided by such a professional and attentive staff. I would highly recommend them 10 STARS 🌟 Thank you, Palmerie Family

(October 21, 2022, 4:04 pm)Five Stars does not even do Prospect Memorial Funeral Home JUSTICE. Dealing with Funeral Director Laura Shular was one of the best experiences I could have asked for. From the first day that my family and I met Laura at the funeral home to pre- arrange my parents funerals, she was very informative, compassionate and caring. Although we knew dad wasn’t doing well, she made a very depressing appointment easier to deal with because you could see her love for what she does. This was not just a business, but to her was an opportunity to help ease the pain/burden on a family. From there, Laura and Kim Palmerie provided my entire family with continued compassion and emotional support as we moved forward with our services. Everything was beautiful and I am forever thankful for how they treated my family and of course my father. I will always give a word of mouth recommendation for this business, but their exceptional service led to a formal review also. Thanks again Laura and Kim.

(May 14, 2021, 4:57 pm)When someone passes, you do not want to worry about how the funeral is handled because grief is all consuming. As I sat in Prospect Memorial Funeral Home with Kim and Sean, my shoulders dropped, I sighed and allowed them to navigate what was one of the most difficult moments in my life: How to say goodbye to my first love, my father Melvin Jones. What I want to say is that none of this is easy because loss is extremely hard but the weight felt less because my mother and I trusted Kim and Sean's counsel. Looking back, here are a few things that stood out to me.
1. We were never rushed - My mother and father were married for 53 years and with that comes moments of sharing stories and yet, Kim and Sean both listened to all of them even though we needed to make clear decisions and we were clearly not their only clients. In the time we had with them, we felt like we were their only priority and that mattered.
2. We were never 'sold'- Mom came in with a clear vision for Dad's funeral based on their private conversations and that verbatim is what we accomplished. Dad wanted a private viewing and a graveside service when obviously there are more elaborate and expensive affairs; yet, they respected our wishes, at times even affirming our choices or giving us privacy to internally discuss things. In the end, we left feeling like our time and investment were well spent.
3. Speed was an non-issue - We met with Kim and Sean on Saturday, May 8, 2021 for a Tuesday, May 11, 2021 funeral and if our need to close this chapter swiftly was problematic for them, we never knew it. They dealt with it all from contacting our Pastor, florals (the florist was amazing as you can tell from the picture), prayer cards, and etc. When we arrived precisely at 9:00 am on Tuesday they were ready, prepared, and not flustered in the least. That way of being is what happens when skilled professionals are involved.
As a fellow business owner, I came in ready to help my mom 'manage' this process and the people involved; instead I was allowed to be a grieving daughter because Kim, Sean and those names we don't know took such great care of us including stopping by the house after the services to let my mom know she is not alone, personally delivering paperwork and the most thoughtful gift. In the end, this was the best experience for my mother and myself and the best way to say to Dad see you on the other side.
