Beautiful but some rough trail sections, be prepared for a steep initial climb though the overall height isn't too bad, and the view is worth it.
This is one of my favorite hikes. Moderately difficult and very pleasant. I hiked up the right side which started with a steep climb to the top of a gorgeous overlook. The rest was fairly easy and overall took about 2-2.5 hours. Highly recommend.
If you're looking for a nice, easy going trek, this is for you. A bit steep from time to time but nothing extremely strenuous. The vista valley views from top of mt are breathtaking.
The Musconetcong River awaits you, as you gradually decent downhill. The trails not overcrowded on a weekday. A solo trek in August..I will definitely be visiting again.
Gorgeous county Park with minimal parking for hikers, anglers, and paddlers. Spectacular overlook of the Musconetcong River Valley and Kittatinny Mountain amd Delaware Water Gap in the distance.
Beautiful scenery but don't rely on GPS to find some of the parking areas. We parked at the Overlook area but we weren't sure we were there. It would help if there were signs stating which parking area you are at. This parking area connects to the blue and orange trails, also not very clearly marked. Beautiful overlook, somewhat difficult climb on rocks and fairly vertical .5 mile. Other trail around river is easy. Overall, it was fun to spend time here and our dog loved it but it's marked more for locals who know it than someone driving to it. Couldn't find other parking areas easily.
Point Mountain Mausoleum (now abandoned) sits at the top of Point Mountain in Hancock, NY (overlooking the Delaware River and neighboring Pennsylvania). It was built as the memorial and final resting spot for Dr. Lester E. Woolsey (1872-1962) in the 1940s to house his remains. ... (908) 876-3011 Old Turnpike Rd, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826, USA wkpd ...
