  Loved this place! So peaceful and quiet. No one around as I walked through the meadows. Swallows flying everywhere as I started up the hill towards the gazebo/lookout area. Various birds chirping and flying. After I walked the meadow areas, the path went into the woods which was a nice change. Walked a total of about 3 miles.
  I did not cross the road to do the other parts of the trails like going up the mountain. I was just looking for a leisurely walk. But, I'll definitely be returning to do the other trails soon.
  I've been to almost all of the Columbia County Conservation Areas and I can definitely say this one was the most quiet and peaceful. Really enjoyed my time here.

  Beautiful, well designed and maintained park. Comfortable, not strenuous, walking through on hillside trails and across meadows.

  A memorable example of Columbia County’s delightful countryside! Good hiking in discovery of the mountainside’s geologic secrets of slate, quartz and limestone, exposed by crystalline rivulets. The circumambient moisture is reclaiming many trees, especially birch. There is the ruin of an old farm, visible from the roadside but closed to tours. Hunting and fishing can be done here, by permit only. No motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed on the hiking trails, except those in use by the Conservation Area’s personnel. The only downside is that there is some litter ditched in the forest, which is of course a reflection of the visitors rather than the Conservation Area itself.
