  Good and constructive training environment. Dave is an enthusiastic teacher and will take as many questions as you can throw at him. The community wants you to learn and grow. Happy to train here!

  I’ve been attending NESF, off and on now, for over 25 years. The nonjudgmental environment presented the perfect setting for me to start learning. Highly skilled instructors made for a safe and enjoyable experience. An overall great place, filled with great people!

  I've trained at several different gyms over the years and NESF is one of the best. The instruction is legit, always plenty of training partners, and no egos. There are very few mma gyms that have been around as long as NESF and the wealth of knowledge that Dave and others have acquired over the decades is invaluable. They have worked hard to cultivate an environment that is welcoming for new comers and challenging for people who really want to push themselves.

  I've been to a bunch of MMA and BJJ gyms and NESF is by far the best. The atmosphere is friendly, the coaches care about students and really love teaching, and the owner is always thinking of ways to improve the gym. Students who have moved away regularly drive across the state to come to classes. I cannot recommend NESF enough.

  NESF has impressive facilities and a very welcoming crowd. Dave Roy is a certified BJJ black belt and one of the best teachers I've ever come across. Everyone should visit, even if just to learn a little self defense.
