The trail is mowed grass the beginning, then packed earth and rocks if you follow the ridge trail. One thing: Wear waterproof boots. Not water-resistant shoes, or waterproof trail shoes. The water levels go a few inches deep in places. The property is lovely, with a variety of wildlife to be seen.
Interesting architectural features include barn and shed remnants, a bird blind, and a padlocked milk cellar. There are remains of a cottage or shelter as you ascend the ridge.
