It sits on the Atlantic coast’s highest headlands (259 foot high). It is a 12 acre park that also has in 9/11 memorial honouring the memory of county residents who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.
You can spot the New York City skyline from this in the scenic overlook as well 🏙

(August 14, 2022, 11:07 pm)I've been here before and love the view. It was an extremely hot day (8.9.22) and sky a bit hazy, plus storm was coming in, so I didn't stay long. I definitely recommend stopping by if you never been.

(July 10, 2022, 7:14 pm)The Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook has a truly spectacular view of Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay and the New York skyline. There are coin operated viewers to get a closer look. You can also sit and relax on the benches and watch the passing ships. This 12-acre site is also a Memorial dedicated to the 147 men and women of Monmouth County who lost their lives on Sept. 11th. The path leading to the memorial is a timeline of the events of Sept. 11th. The eagle is holding a beam from the World Trade Center. Fun Fact: There is also a playground for the little ones.

(June 6, 2022, 1:09 am)The view from this park it's amazing! It was my first time at this place and I fall in love of the view to NYC 😍 this park has a play ground for the kids too which is perfect so the whole family can enjoy! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED 👍

(May 1, 2022, 2:28 am)Nice peaceful place to sit and watch ships go by.. not as high though as we'd thought but this place has its history, read the information boards posted there... There's also a 9/11 memorial with a timeline of events as they unfolded that day that you can read as you walk up the pathway.. come here to relax and sit for a bit.. you can even visit the near by Sandy Hook area from here..
