  I found Dr Horney in a search for a hypnotherapist to treat my cyclic vomiting syndrome. Without going into too much detail, CVS was for me a debilitating condition that left me vomiting violently, unable to get out of bed or look at any kind of light, completely incapacitated, for up to a week a month. There is no cause or cure for it, according to traditional medicine. My online research showed that some people had found relief through hypnotherapy, so I contacted Dr Horney to see if he could help. He was very honest with me and said he had not heard of or treated CVS before, but he listened carefully to my story and followed up with his own extensive research. I had to cancel our first session at the last minute because of a CVS episode, and he was very understanding and rescheduled for as soon as I was feeling better. We had one session, during which he thoroughly explained every aspect of the process. He taught me methods for self-hypnosis that I can use daily and to prevent episodes. Using these techniques, I have successfully staved off the vomiting for three months and counting. I still get nauseous sometimes, but I have the tools to stop it from progressing. I am confident that one day soon, the nausea will stop as well, and the last two years of debilitating CVS will be a memory. Dr Horney is an exceptional practitioner of alternative medicine—caring, thorough, patient, and responsible. Unlike so many in the field, he does not drag out treatment or create issues to generate income for himself. He believes, as I do, in the body’s ability to heal and balance itself, and he is able to help “flip the switch” for that to happen.

  Dr. Horney has been adjusting me for over 40 years, since he was in chiropractic school. His healthful adjustments have helped countless patients spanning multi- generations. His thorough examination and insightful diagnostic skills are priceless

  I worked out in the morning and really hurt my back badly. Worst yet, I was scheduled to take a vacation the same day. I called up Dr. Horney and asked him if he would see me. He went out of his way to ensure I got an appointment. He was very compassionate and sincere. A true professional. He assisted me and significantly improved my condition. It consisted of manual manipulation as well as trigger point injections. Within days the pain was completely resolved. I ways back to working out within one week. He saved my back and my vacation!

  Dr. Micheal S Horney at Port Jefferson Chiropractic has been a delightful experience. I've never been to a Chiropractor before and when I started to have lower back pains, I heard it was something highly recommended to feel better. My first visit to the office was very calm and inviting. They always welcome new patients with their upbeat staff. When I continued to go back, I've had no problem with scheduling, they're very good with being flexible and always do the best to accommodate.
